After graduating from Temple University, Deborah built a career working with practitioners, medical specialists, hospitals, and billing organizations across Pennsylvania, New York, and New Jersey.
Her work brought her into contact with the complexities of medical billing and reimbursement, as well as the health insurance companies and healthcare programs responsible for paying claims.
Her experience includes working with Aetna, Cigna, AARP, UnitedHealthcare, OmniCare, Medicare, and Medicaid.
For the past 15 years she has lived and worked in Florida, helping private clients navigate complicated insurance and reimbursement matters. During that time she has successfully recovered hundreds of thousands of dollars in out-of-network expenses for those clients.
A New Focus
A new chapter in Deborah’s career.
The recovery work itself is not new — only who it serves.
After 15 years pursuing out-of-network reimbursement for private clients in Florida, Deborah saw an opportunity to bring the same work to specialty medical practices in the Tampa Bay area.
She understood the challenge from a different perspective: physicians and their staff already have demanding jobs. Sorting through reimbursement issues, communicating with insurers, and determining whether additional payment may be available can become an unwelcome responsibility.
Deborah created Polk-Neal & Associates to take on that responsibility.
Her goal is simple: give physicians an experienced advocate who can handle the reimbursement process while they remain focused on their patients and their practices.
